Shree Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram

Shiva answers Parvati after she hears the thousand names of Vishnu and asks - what about an ordinary person whose heart is full of love for Vishnu but he can't chant all the names of Vishnu. What then will be the way for them? Shiva says "By chanting Ram all the names of Vishnu are chanted"

Myself being obsessive scientist and artist I needed to know why it is so. Today I am sharing this for people who are devotees - not the technical people.

Vishnu is the present manifestation, the Now eternal ever changing and ever new. What we see, feel, think is all the face of Vishnu. The macro and micro cosmos is Vishnu.

Why Ram name is as good as chanting 1000 names of Vishnu?

In sanskrit alphabets Ra is the shortest tongue flick against the roof of the mouth. Ra represents fire, vishnu, appearance of life - so why it is so?

Your tongue which is related with taste water element second chakra - kundalini, energy, the feminine. When your tongue strikes the roof of the mouth which is related with your third eye - Shiva, awareness, the male - the first union of male female happens and gives birth to spark of energy, prana takes birth and manifests.

The pure present micro energy cosmos - this is Vishnu

When you open the mouth into aa that is the heart sound - the creation and manifestation.

Then your mouth starts to close into Ma - the ending, the Shiva, the awareness.

This mantra starts with Shakti and Shiva union, and manifests as aa then ending into ma. This whole movement is that of creation and destruction in micro cosmos within you.

This is not you chanting, but it is also the movement of the present cosmos the Vishnu.

Ra represents fire, Sun and Ma represents the water, moon.

It activates the solar plexus third chakra.

As when you chant gum it is the root of the tongue touching the roof hence it represents root chakra.

We are the cosmos and our tongue movement is the movement of divine creation.

These two sounds, Ra and Ma, represent the yin yang, male female, the basic construct of the mind and cosmos. Chanting this can integrate your energies and wisdom.

So in devotion and chanting, with heartfelt reverence, addressing the present cosmos around the macro and within the micro cosmos Ram.

So this mantra is not only a name of divine but the very movement in your chanting is the movement of Shiva and Shakti giving birth to present energy of the cosmos.

When you chant Ram you are not searching for divine but addressing the present cosmos as divine, the Ram.

That is why in bhakti (devotion) the first step is the last step of yoga. You don't say I will practise, meditation, yoga then I will find divine but instead a bhakta knows from heart that what ever this life is has to be the form of divine why search but jump into now and walk hand in hand with divine Now the form of Vishnu.

So when you chant Ram address this present including you as Ram.

On the level of meditation when you chant and focus on Ram sound, you are into the pure present. All our life is nothing but Ram, that is appearance and awareness.

Ra is taken from Na"ra"yana

Ma is taken from na"ma"ha shivaya.

Meaning appearance and awareness, seeing and listening, experiencing and understanding.

So appearance is fire and understanding is water, reflecting the fire.

As Moon mind reflects the Sun, the life.

Hence in India we say all is, Ram this is not only poetic but very scientific statement.

You can chant with awareness as meditation or in devotion from heart as remembering the present form of divine.

Chanting Ram can make you balanced in both the worlds material as well as spiritual. Because use of tongue makes you grounded with earth.

As it is known in India if you chant only Aum you will loose touch with material world and you will become detached because technically it uses no tongue or word but pure vowel sound - word, tongue is the bridge between earth and sky.

This is what Vaishnav means, one who does not make choice between material and spiritual because for him it is all Ram the present.

In India name for present moment is Ram. We never experience anything else ever. But just this Ram Ram

Shree is energy, Ram is manifestation, Jai means victory - meaning Now which is always victorious. We come and go like thoughts but Ram stays.

So dance and sing with the presence of divine.

Bless you all Ram Ram Ram
